Flaw in Template System Please Fix this
Hi all,
I was making a build for my warrior. Then I saved as a template as "axe build1".Now after this I created a build for my ranger. I wanted to save this as "degen1". But offcourse this could beconfusing if I wanted to use a degen build for my warrior. So saved the template as "Ranger Degen 1".
Now seeing my mistake, I wanted to Rename my "axe build1" in manage. And what do you know only the option to delete . So I went to the folder options of my computer and to the builds folder (which is a hassle for renaming a build) and renamed the file "warrior axe build1". Still din't update though. Had to restart ( not logout) to get it to refresh.
Offcourse now I the see the error of my way. You can load the template. Delete it, and then save it as a other name. But still just a renaming is so much faster and user friendly.
So Please Give us Rename option In Manage of Templates

although you could load the template, edit it, save it as something else then delete the previous one.

We (still) need a skill balancing overhaul more than some minor interface adjustment. But, knowing a.net, they probably will implement this asap.

The sooner the better. It shouldn't be to hard to make a function that renames files. The hard part was actually making the template it self

compared to the other things that need fixing this is really minor, plus it's not like it can't be done

/signed "Manage" makes it seem like they already planned to implement it, but havent yet, for some reason.

you can go to your templates folder and rename the text files. after reloading guild wars they are renamed. that's how I implemented a structure after I messed around when it was all new and shiny. ^^

Something i'd like them to let us do is to be able to use the templates across differents professions. I want to be able to load my WoH monking build on my me/mo as a fast casting healer, but the current template system doesn't allow this.

@ the OP. Umm... since when you switch templetes, you can only see the ones of your characters primary profession (ie all the other ones are greyed out), I don't see why you have to distinguish between degen1 (for ranger) or degen2 (for warrior), cause you'll be able to tell which is which when you see which one you can't load on your warrior or ranger.

True that they Grey out for the purpose of which char has which build. But renaming something is always better then deleting it and saving as other name ^^.
